Sri Lanka seal historic win

Sri Lanka sealed a historic first test win in South Africa as they cruised to a 208-run victory over the Proteas on the fourth day of the second Sunfoil test at Sahara Stadium Kingsmead in Durban on Thursday.

Left-arm spinner Rangana Herath picked up 5-79, and match figures of 9-159, as the tourists bowled the hosts out for 241, with nine balls left in the day, to claim their first win in nine tests in South Africa.

The victory was Sri Lanka’s first in 16 tests stretching back to the middle of last year while the visitors levelled the three-test series 1-1 with the deciding match scheduled to start in Cape Town on January 3.
